Duochrome Acuity

Test

Background

The Duochrome Acuity test reveals two of the most common refractive errors in the eye- nearsightedness and farsightedness.

How it works

The test uses objects on red and green backgrounds to reveal the clarity of perception. It is based on the person’s ability to distinguish different wavelengths. You are given the same object on green and red backgrounds and asked to identify whether the object is clear on blurry on any of the backgrounds. The test is taken with one eye closed, so the results may be different for the right and the left eye.

Results

Based on the answers, the test will reveal shortsightedness and long sightedness.
