Vitamin C


Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and a powerful antioxidant. It helps the body form and maintain connective tissue, including collagen found in the cornea of the eye. Studies suggest long-term consumption of vitamin C also may reduce the risk of forming a cataract and vision loss from macular degeneration. When taken in combination with other essential nutrients, can slow the progression of visual acuity loss. Vitamin C also supports the health of ocular blood vessels.

Found in: green and red peppers, citrus fruits, tomatoes, broccoli, strawberries, sweet and white potatoes, leafy greens, and cantaloupe.
