Vitamin E


Vitamin E in its most biologically active form is a powerful antioxidant. It is thought to protect cells of the eyes from damage caused by unstable molecules called free radicals which break down healthy issue.E helps to prevent cataracts, macular degeneration (AMD) and dry eye. Long-term use of fish oil may cause a vitamin E deficiency in some individuals. Therefore, it's a good idea to look for fish oil supplements that also contain vitamin E, or take a multiple vitamin that contains this vitamin if you take fish oil supplements for dry eyes.

Found in: eggs, fortified cereals, fruit, wheat germ, green leafy vegetables, nuts/nut oils, vegetable oils, and whole grains, cereal, sunflower seeds, almonds, spinach, hazelnuts, peanuts, avocado.
